Teaching at St Swithin’s is about making connections. It helps us understand who God is and how we grow in our relationship with Him.
It connects God’s word to our everyday lives and places our everyday lives in the much bigger picture of God’s story as revealed in the Bible. Seeing these connections helps us to understand how we can live our lives well in the shelter of God’s story and wisdom. The teaching is also about life; so that the Word becomes alive and we too become alive in Christ, for in Christ we are “brought to fullness” (Colossians 2:10). In that fullness we find out who we are, where we belong, and where we are going, in the knowledge that this life leads onwards into eternity.
Teaching is shared by the clergy and other lay preachers. Each person brings their own experiences, faith journey, and understanding to their teaching.
